Wineries who participate in the OC Fair Wine Competition have an opportunity to send the winemaker and/or winery principals to meet the 65,000+ daily fair guests and our Orange County Wine Society members volunteering at the OC Fair Courtyard. The OC Fair runs from mid-July to mid-August in Costa Mesa, CA. A member of the OCWS will pour the wines you bring while your representative talks with the attendees. You may promote your wines and winery, sign up new Wine Club members and can take orders to be filled later (wine bottle sales are not allowed on the fairgrounds).
We are located in The Wine Courtyard under the shade cloth away from the main counters where OCWS volunteers serve award and non-award wines during the fair. Your visit will be featured on the OCWS Social Media pages and the OC Fair website.
Wines must be shipped in advance to the OCWS office prior to the fair opening date. It is impossible to get FedEx/UPS/GSO onto the fairgrounds for deliveries during the fair. The winery provides 3-4 cases featuring up to 5 varietals of your wines. We have found that you have more success if you include 2 or 3 award winning wines. We pour 2 one-ounce tastes for $5 and an 8 ounce glasses for $10. The OCWS will provide the glasses, dump buckets, signage of the specific wines you provide and the bar where we will serve your wines. Feel free to bring a winery banner or signage to place across the front of the bar. Don’t forget your Wine Club applications and marketing materials.
Proceeds from this program go to the OCWS Scholarship program which supports students at 8 California Colleges and Universities with programs in enology, viticulture, and culinary arts.
